GEDDIS MAVE VICTORIA, ESQUIRE On Friday, July 10, 2015, Mave Victoria Geddis, Esquire, age 89, of Bellevue. Preceded in death by her beloved parents, Sarah and Thomas Geddis; and by her brother, Brian. She is survived by two nieces and one nephew, and great-aunt to many. Mave was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, and received her law degree from its School of Law in 1952. Admitted to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in 1953, she practiced law in Pittsburgh and Bellevue for nearly 62 years. She was an Assistant District Attorney for Allegheny County, an Assistant Allegheny County Solicitor, worked for the Urban Redevelopment Authority and the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board, a longtime member of the Greenstone United Methodist Church and a proud member of Shannopin Country Club for 47 years. Friends received on Sunday, September 20, 2015, from 2-4 p.m. at the LAWRENCE T. DUMOND HAZEL CATHERINE Hazel Dumond was the second of eight children born to Harry and Esther (Hohe) Normington in Lanark, PA on January 2, 1926. Hazel met the love of her life, David Isiah Dumond, in Indianapolis. They married in 1949. Hazel's great love was her family and her greatest skill was making a house into a beautiful and loving home for her husband and two children, David, Jr. and Lynn. On September 9, 2015, Hazel passed from this world into eternity with Jesus. She was preceded in death by her parents; eldest brother, Marvin; and husband, David. She leaves to cherish her memory son, David (Ann); daughter, Lynn (Marc) Portnoff; grandchildren, Trevor (Amber) Dumond, Kathryn (Tim) Gorman, Samuel (Alyse) Portnoff, Jacob (Rebecca) Portnoff, and Ruth Portnoff; great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Micah Portnoff and Baby-G due in November. CHORBA HILDA (KELLY) Hilda K. Chorba, age 101, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, died on September 10, 2015, at Sunnyside Nursing Home in Sarasota, Florida. She was born on December 27, 1913, in Homestead, PA, the daughter of William and Clara Kelly. She and her sisters, Elizabeth, Janet and Olive, were raised by their aunt and uncle, Thomas and Sophia Kelly. In 1935, she married George Edward Chorba and spent 54 years together in Baldwin Township and later in retirement in Clearwater, FL. She was a founder and Charter Member of the Whitehall United Presbyterian Church, was active in her church and bridge circles, and was a Cub Scout Den Mother there. She was a member of Eastern Star and Rainbow Girls. For many years, she served as the volunteer manager for the South Side Hospital's gift shop. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Carole Anne, her husband and her sisters. She is survived by her sons, the Reverend George and wife, Merle, Tom and wife, Celeste, and Carl and wife, Carole; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her dearly loved nieces and nephews and all of their children. They were a constant source of joy to her throughout her lifetime. Friends and family will be received on Saturday, September 19, 2015, from 10 a.m. until the time of Service at 11 a.m. in Whitehall Presbyterian Church, 4935 E. Willock Rd., Pittsburgh, PA. He was born June 15, 1930, in Ambridge, PA was the son of the late Emilian and Elizabeth Terlesky. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, serving in the Korean War. He retired from J & L Steel Company, was a graduate from Ambridge High School and avid boxer and golfer. He is survived by two brothers, Al Terlesky, Sewickley and Eugene (Garnet) Terlesky, AZ; also several nieces and nephews. NAPOLEON CLARE C. Former Administrative Secretary to Judge Joseph F. Weis, Jr. of the U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals, died in Georgia at the age of 100. She was the mother of Sara J. Napoleon, Louis John Napoleon (deceased), Andrea Napoleon Huxley; and mother-in-law of Kandy Chariff. She was the grandmother of Thomas L. Huxley and Julia N. Huxley (Alessio Simonetti); and great- grandmother of Jacob and Nicolas Simonetti. She was a beloved aunt to dozens of nieces and nephews. She was involved with the Pittsburgh Opera Society and spent years volunteering at Shadyside Hospital. Clare was known for her monthly lavish dinner parties, bringing people together around her table for lively conversation. She worked tirelessly at the polls on election days and upon her retirement in 1988, she traveled the world. She was an avid sports fan, following the Pirates and Steelers with gusto. Her Funeral Mass will be held on Sept. 15, 2015, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Cathedral. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. We will miss her laugh and her wonderful smile. She is irreplaceable. WILCKE GERHARD HANS “GERD” Of Timonium, MD, died in his home, at the Mercy Ridge Retirement Community in Timonium, MD, on September 3, 2015. He was 89. He was the director of public relations for the Mobay Chemical Corporation (Bayer U.S.A.) until his retirement in 1991. He was deeply devoted to his family, and moved from Pittsburgh to Mercy Ridge in 2005 to be closer to his grandchildren. Gerd was predeceased by his wife, Marianne in 1995; and is survived by his children, Claudia and her husband, David Kolster of Caldwell, NJ, Bettina and her husband, Karl Kokinakis of Phoenix, MD; he is also survived by his grandchildren, to whom he was extremely devoted, Brianna Elliott, Kristos Kokinakis, Luke Kokinakis and Alexander Kokinakis. ROBERTSHAW JOHN "JACK" A., Jr. Age 89, of Greensburg, passed away Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at his Ligonier home, surrounded by his family and caregivers. Born July 28, 1926, in Greensburg, the son of the late John A. and Emma Ryan Robertshaw, Jack graduated from the Lawrenceville School and Yale University and also served in the Navy. A businessman and philanthropist, Jack was a lifelong advocate for Greensburg and its surrounds. After leaving Robertshaw Control Co. as vice president of International Sales, he and the late John D. Reese partnered to buy Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company in Kecksburg, which grew into Laurel Group Limited, of which Jack was the chairman. At the same time, he was the chairman of the Board of Laurel Vending, Inc. Among the many boards and committees on which Jack served are the Westmoreland County Community College Foundation, the Westmoreland Trust, Excela Health, the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, the Westmoreland Museum of American Art and the Catholic Diocese of Greensburg. Jack was a member of both Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Greensburg and Holy Trinity church in Ligonier. He was honored to be a member of the Order of Malta as well as the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre. Jack's philanthropic footprint will live for decades to come. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends and will always be remembered by his generosity, his great sense of humor and his dancing feet. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his sister, Emma Hope. He is survived by his loving wife, Anne Boulin Robertshaw, with whom he would have celebrated their 65th anniversary this year. He is survived by two brothers, William Robertshaw, of Arizona, and Frederick O. Robertshaw and his wife, Niki, of Paradise Valley, AZ; and a sister-in-law, Marie Claude Solvay, of La Hulpe, Belgium. Jack is also survived by five children, John A. Robertshaw III, of New York City, Marc B. Robertshaw and his wife, Colleen, of Rector, Christopher F. Robertshaw, of Greensburg, Lisa Moeller and her husband, Arthur, of New Florence, and Natalie Kelley and her husband, Brendan, of Pittsburgh; and eight grandchildren, Lauren, Lesley, Charlotte and Katherine Robertshaw, Arthur and Douglas Moeller, and Caroline and Margot Kelley. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 524 N. GRASSI ERCOLE A. "ART" Age 90 of Canonsburg, formerly of Houston, passed away peacefully at 10:50 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2015, at The Regency Assisted Living of Charlotte, North Carolina. He was born December 15, 1924, in Houston a son of the late Alfonzo and Christina DeMartino Grassi. Mr. Grassi graduated from Canonsburg High School and proudly served with the United States Navy as an Electrician's Mate during World War II, until May 3, 1946. He had been a member of the American Legion Post 902 in Houston and the VFW Post 191 in Canonsburg. Prior to his retirement he was employed for many years as an electrical engineer with the former McGraw Edison Power Systems in Canonsburg and installed carpeting as a side line around the area. Mr. Grassi lived most of his life in the Grassi family home in Houston, was an avid card player and bowler and very much enjoyed eating good food. On August 10, 1948, he married his beloved wife of 65 years Naomi M. "Ann" Lee who passed away December 11, 2013. Surviving to cherish his memory is his son, Nelson Ercole Grassi of Charlotte, North Carolina; daughters, Marie Spiker and Edna Nixon; his son-in-law, Joe Shook of Houston; grandchildren, Darla Campell, Marla and Jennifer Spiker, Phillip, Neal (Heidi) and Taylor Grassi, Stacy (Chad Piotrowski) Proia, George and Edward Nixon, Lee Ann Settles and William Nixon; two sisters, Doris (Salvatore) Cargnoni of Bridgeville and Dolores M. Maffio of Washington; many great-grandchildren including Isabella Love and Jaden Piotowski; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his parents and wife are his dear daughter, Claudette Shook who passed away August 8, 2012; a granddaughter, Carla Spiker; three brothers, Chester, Nelson and Daniel Grassi; and four sisters, Carmie Gaydos, Sylvia Cavasina, Mary Marcantonio and Gerry Farrar. His family put a note above Mr. Grassi's bed that they would like to share. "Please open a window when he passes. He and his bride are going to San Diego before they go to heaven".
